    The discourse exploresthe link between food and culture from a foreign’s perspective and it records some authentic Chinese food andillustrates the cultural meaning, gerography features and historic traditionthat the food reflects. It is aimed to lead students to understand and thinkabout the connection between food and culture. While teaching, the teachershould instruct students to find out the writing order and the writer’sexperieces and feelings towards Chinese food and culture.


    1.Guide the students toread the text, sort out the information and dig out the topic.

    2.Understand the culturalconnotation, regional characteristics and historical tradition of Chinesecuisine

    3.Understand and explorethe relationship between food and peoples personality

    4.Guide the students touse the cohesive words in the text

    5.Lead students to accuratelygrasp the real meaning of the information and improve the overall understandingability by understanding the implied meaning behind the text.

    1. Enable the Ss to understand the structure andthe writing style of the passage well.

    2. Lead the Ss tounderstand and think further about the connection between food and geographyand local character traits.
