    Good afternoon, dear teachers. I’m glad to be here to take this interview.I hope I can impress you. My name is..I’m a graduate student from Henan NormalUniversity. I have been dreaming to become a teacher for several years, as myparents are both teachers, and I think teacher is a glorious profession. Duringmy past several years, I tried my best to enrich myself, learn more knowledgein order to be a qualified teacher in the future. Now, I think it is time torealize my dream. But I think this is just the first step, because to be a goodteacher need more things. So I hope you can give me a chance, I won’t let you down. That’s all, thank you.


    I have been ready to begin thisrepresentation with five parts. Analysis of the teaching material, the teachingaims, the teaching method, the studying methods, the teaching procedure and theblack board design.

    Part 1 Teaching Material

    The content of my lesson is New SeniorEnglish for China Book2 Module1. This unit is about music. By studying of thisunit, we’llenable students to know various kinds of music and that different music canbring us different influence. At the same time, let the students learn how toexpress their own ideas about music.Let’s start with reading. This lesson is inthe important position of this unit. If the Ss can master it well, it will behelpful for them to learn the rest of this unit.

    Part 2 Teaching Aims

    According to the new standard curriculumand the syllabus, and after studying the teaching material, the teaching aims arethe followings:

    1.Knowledge objects

    (1)The Ss can master the usage of theimportant words and expressions.

    (2)The Ss can understand the content ofthe lesson, talk about different music styles and get their own idea aboutmusic.

    2.Ability objects

    (1) To develop the Ss’ abilities of listening, speaking, readingand writing

    (2) To guide Ss to set up effectivestudying strategies.

    (3) To improve the student’s reading ability, especially theirskimming and scanning ability.

    (4) To train the Ss’ abilities of studying by themselves andcooperating .

    3.Emotion or moral objects

    (1)By completing the task, the Ss get toknow the importance of music in our daily life, and increase their musicaccomplishment.

    (2)Teach the Ss that no pains, no gains bytelling them the stories of successful musicians, put the moral education inthe language study.

    Part 3 Teaching Methods

    As is known to us all, a good teachingmethod requires that the teacher should help Ss develop good sense of theEnglish language. For achieving these teaching aims, I will use the followingmethods according to the modern social communication teaching theories(现代社会交际教学理论) .

    1. Communicative Approach(交际教学法)

    2. Whole Language Teaching(整体语言教学法)

    3. Task-based Language Teaching (任务教学法)

    4. Total Situational Action (情景教学) a “scene — activity” teaching method , it establishes a realscene and the interaction between the teacher and the Ss. At the same time, CAI(电脑辅助教学) canprovide a real situation with its sound and picture, it can develop the Sscreativity in learning English. Part 4 Studying Methods

    Students can learn to study on their own,and use the learned expressions and words to communicate with their partnersactively, which is helpful for improving communication strategy, andcultivating the students thinking skills in English.

    Part 5 Teaching Procedure

    Step 1. Lead-in. I will ask a questionwhat kind of music do you like? And let students have a brainstorm, try to saythe music style as much as they know.

    Purpose of my design: to catch Ss’ attention about the class/topic/passage.

    Step 2. Pre-reading

    Task 1. I will paste several pictures onthe blackboard and lat ss to guess what kind of music does these pictures referto, i will help the ss to get right answers.

    Task 2. Let ss listen to the differentkinds of music on the tape. Guess which music matches which picture.

    Purpose of my design: (1) to get to knowvarious kinds of music through both visual and acoustic way.

    (2) To have a better understanding aboutmusic.

    Step 3. While-reading

    Task 1. Let ss learn the words andphrases, especially some express preference or feelings. Task 2. I will dividess into several groups, and Let them have a discussion by giving two questions:

    1.what kind of music do you like best ?what kind of effect does the music have on you ? At the same time, I will pastea big piece of paper with useful words ,phrases and expressions on theblackboard.

    Task 3.I will ask some students as areporter to express their results of their groups. At last,I will make aconclusion and evaluate their performance , also give my own understanding ofmusic.

    Purpose of my design: Enable students tounderstand the given material better by using different reading skills. Andproper competition can arouse the Ss’ interest in English learning. “Task-based” teaching method is used here to developthe Ss’ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be welltrained.

    Step 4. Game.

    I will divided the class into severalgroups.then I will give each group a picture,let one group to describe theirpicture and ask others to guess. If a group get the right answer, I will give areward to it. At last, the group who has the most rewards is the winner.

    Step 5. Homework

    1. Talk about your favourite music withyour partners.

    2. Write a composition about yourfavourite musician.

    Purpose of my design: Homework is soimportant and necessary for to master the knowledge they learned after class.It will check whether the Ss achieve the teaching aims.

    我说课的内容是高一英语Book2 Unit 5 Music. Reading The Band ThatWasn’t。这是一节综合技能课。说课内容包括以下几个部分:教材分析,学情分析,说教法,说学法以及教学程序。

    一. 教材分析

    1. 教学内容:本单元的中心话题是“音乐”。本文的题目是“The Band That Wasn’t”。本课是本单元第一课时,在本单元中起启后的作用,为后面知识点的学习、其它课文的理解起很好的铺垫,是本单元的重点。本课的中心话题是“音乐”和“音乐类型”,主要内容是门基乐队的形成和成长历程。这种令学生感兴趣的话题、与切身相关的情节很容易使学生情趣盎然,有话可说,同时,也很适合中学生的认知程度,是提升学生阅读能力的很好的素材。通过本课学习,学生不仅有机会锻炼他们提炼关键语句,进而提升他们阅读水平、分析整合文章的能力;还将对门基乐队有较深的了解,向他们学习可取之处;更为重要的是,学生有机会感受音乐的影响及思考迈向成功的关键所在。

    2. 教学目标

    1)知识目标:注重学生对课文的理解和语言表达,提高学生的阅读能力与技巧。

    2)能力目标:围绕这一课题,使学生掌握快速阅读,详细阅读的技巧,能够寻找主题句或归纳总结每段的大意;训练他们捕捉信息,理解信息并整理信息的能力

    3)德育目标:了解各种各样的音乐形式,深化对音乐的认识,增添音乐欣赏趣味,提高音乐修养;谈论乐队及明星的生活,引导学生用辨证和理智的态度看待明星,树立正确的人生观和价值观。

    3.教学重点和难点

    1)教学重点: ①帮助学生总结归纳段落大意(快速浏览)

    ②分析整理课文中的细节阅读(详细阅读)

    依据是英语学科新课标要求培养学生综合运用语言的能力,所以我把以上两点做为教学重点,从而起到提纲挈领的效果,便于学生掌握。

    2)教学难点:推理并找出门基乐队成功的背后原因。

    依据是在教学过程中作为教师必须从自己所教的学生实际情况出发,找出并化解难点以达到预期的教学目的。

    二. 学情分析(说学生)

    高一学生在学习上有股新奇感,乐于积极表现,在自己所知道的知识领域里很容易引起共鸣。本单元的话题有关“音乐”。由于音乐与学生生活联系密切,加上课堂上音乐的表现方式可以多样,因此学生学习兴趣浓厚。然而,大部分学生英语基础薄弱,阅读词汇量有限,分析整合文章能力不强,尤其是通过提炼关键语句来概括复述的能力较为薄弱。对此,本课安排了多项针对性任务,有情境创设、自主思考、合作探究等环节,旨在让学生主动学习,在原有的基础上进一步提高。

    三. 教学方法

    为更好地发挥教师的主导作用和学生的主体地位,突出重点,突破难点,我主要采用以下教学方法

    1.任务型教学法。2. 多媒体辅助教学法3. 启发式教学法4. 讨论法

    四. 说学法

    基础教育改革后,新课程标准倡导的自主学习,探究学习和合作学习。

    五.教学程序

    本节课的教学过程主要分为以下几个步骤:

    Step 1 Warming up(热身)

    Task1: Brainstorming(头脑风暴) 让学生通过联想关于音乐的相关词汇来引出音乐风格。

    Task2: Guessing在屏幕上展示图片,并让学生听不同类型的音乐来猜测应该对应哪幅图片

    Step2 Pre-reading

    1. Do you know any famous bands?

    2. Do you know anything about the Monkees?

    此部分主要通过图片和视频展示引入课题—The Band That Wasn’t

    Step3 Reading

    Task1 Reading and answering

    1. How many bands are mentioned in thepassage? What are they?

    2. Which band does “ The Band That Wasn’t ” refer to?

    Task2 Finding and summarizing

    Ask students to work in pairs and identifythe main idea of each paragraph Task 3 Filling and introducing (Group work)

    Ask students to turn to page 57(ExerciseBook) and fill in the forms in groups. Step 4 After reading

    Task 1 Comprehending

    Ask students to join the correct parts ofthe sentences together.

    Task2 Discussion

    1. Why is the title of the text “The Band That Wasn’t ”?

    2. Which adjective do you think is best todescribe the Monkees?

    3. What do you learn from The Monkees’ success?

    Task 3 Sharing and performing

    Which band do you like best?

    Get students to work in groups tointroduce their band in the following ways.

    1. Give the band a name.

    2. Introduce the singers to others

    3. Introduce the musical instruments thattheir band like to use

    4. Sing a song for fans.

    Step 5 Homework

    1.Search the passage for the new words,expressions and sentences and try to understand them.

    2. Write a composition about your favoriteband in about 100 words.
