三、教学建议
第一课时:
1. Lead in (Vocabulary)
A) Before class, teacher should collect somepictures of working places. For example: Bank, TV Station, Restaurant, PoliceStation, Hospital ...
B) In class, show students the pictures(PowerPoint, OHP). Ask students to tell the name of the working places and thename of the jobs.
Shop assistant, doctor, actor, reporter,police office, waiter, bank clerk, student
C) Do exercise 1a and 3a.
2. Bingo Game
Ask groups of students to make up pairs ofcards with a job on one and the related workplace on the other. For example,waiter / restaurant, teacher / school, doctor / hospital. Encourage students touse both the job / workplace combinations in the book and the ones thatstudents came up during class discussions. Be sure they have twice as many setsof cards as there are students in the group. They can make two sets of cardsfor a single job / workplace, if necessary. Then have each group mix up its setof cards and hand their cards out in random order. Each time a student gets apair of cards that match, he or she can lay these cards down. The goal is tohave no cards in your hand at the end.
3. Task One
A) Ask students to work in pairs and ask thepartner what does he / she want to be in the future.
e. g. :
What do you / does he / does she want to be?
I want to be a.

B) Vocabulary: Section B, 1a
4. Homework 1.2.
B) Ask students to go back home and interviewtheir parents, friends or relatives jobs; the jobs they want to have; andtheir working places. Take notes.
第二课时:
1. Task Two "Occupation Quiz"
一部分学生用动作表演一些职业,另一部分学生用是/非问句猜,表演的学生只能回答yes/no.
2. Task Three
Students work in pairs and ask each otherabout their parents, relatives or friends jobs; the jobs they want to have;and their working places.

1. Task Four "Class Top 10 OccupationList"
Group work. 7 or 8 students in one big group,tell each other his / her favorite job in the future: The job he wants to have.The group leader should take notes. After class, all the group leaders worktogether to make a "Class Top1.Occupation List".
2. Task Five "Special Occupations"(特种职业)
Ask students to do some investigation aboutthe most modern and special occupations.
3. Challenging activity(挑战性活动)
“Occupation Prediction”:哪些职业会成为下个世纪最热门的职业,这些职业的特点是什么?你为什么认为某些职业会走俏?你本人又想从事哪一行?能否据此做一次较大范围的职业调查和预测?
